Game 4 of the World Series dominated television ratings on Sunday, raking in an estimated 20 million viewers. According to The New York Times:

Opposite Fox’s coverage of Game 4 of the World Series, which dominated the ratings on Sunday, “Desperate Housewives” helped give ABC a narrow second-place finish for the night. According to Nielsen’s estimates, “Desperate Housewives” delivered 13.8 million viewers, far more than CBS’s new medical show, “Three Rivers(7.7 million), in the same 9 p.m. time slot. The two networks were more evenly matched at 8, as CBS’s “Amazing Race” (11.1 million) outpaced ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” (10.8 million), and at 10 when ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters” (9.4 million) edged ahead of CBS’s “Cold Case” (8.6 million). Final audience figures for the World Series game were not available on Monday, although preliminary estimates show that more than 20 million tuned in. NBC remained well behind in fourth.
