Posted in Conversation Piece on October 27, 2011 by mymorningjoe
The new single from B.N.D.’s (Belief Never Dies) album “D.O.C.” – Definition Of Cool . Wes Coas (Compton, Ca) and 7th Letter (Gardena, Ca) joined forces in 2010, when they created their debut album, “Great Western Form”.
.
The project garnered a strong internet presence tallying thousands of downloads. Now they return with their sophomore effort. The title is self-explanatory, but there is also good hip hop lyricism, with quality soulful production from 7th Letter.

Snipes

“That which is from the heart touches the heart. I write what I experience and most people identify because of a similar situation in their own lives.” A quote from rising 26 year artist/producer/writer Snipes when asked about why his music stands out from the average artist. A native of Memphis, TN his musical journey started at the tender age of 8 when he began playing instruments in church. During his teens he began to sing and write poems as well. While attending Austin Peay State University, he performed in the school’s weekly open mic show called “Peay Soup.” It was there where the self-proclaimed “writer not rapper” developed a love for the stage.

In 2009 he along with members of his family formed the R&B/Soul group Touch Of Soul. They achieved moderate success in the mid-south region with their songs “Springtime” and “Friday Night” which Snipes helped write, produce, and sang on the 1st verse of both. It wasn’t until 2011 when he looked at hip hop as a viable option for himself. “I listened to the radio and didn’t hear anything that I could relate to”, recalls Snipes. “There’s nothing wrong with party music. There’s a time and place for everything. However, when there’s an unbalance in the music, there tends to be an unrealistic depiction of reality.” With that mindset Snipes began working on his upcoming release “My Point Of View.” The project features instrumentals you can feel and lyrics that make you think. “Ultimately I wan to positively impact people’s lives with my music” says the multi-talented father of 1. With a little time and work he will do just that.

LEL Brothas Headlining World Tour

Posted in Conversation Piece on October 22, 2011 by mymorningjoe

Before west coast based hip-hop group LEL Brothas ventured out on a successful national tour where they performed as co-headliners alongside west coast heavyweights The Game and E-40, they were just two artists who desperately wanted to bring music to people in all parts of the world.

Since then, they have embarked on an audacious world tour of the Middle East, arranged by their business partner Calvin Bowers of CB5 Ent, which landed them as the first-ever hip-hop group to perform in Saudi Arabia. They performed at the U.S. Embassy as well as the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence and were dubbed “Cultural Ambassadors of American Hip-Hop Culture” by the U.S. State Department.

Consisting of DJ Clone and LBC, as well as their hype man CB5, the members all originate from southern California, they went on to be the first-ever hip-hop group to be broadcast live on Saudi Arabia Television. They also found themselves in Bahrain the day after Marshall Law was lifted, the streets still lined with military soldiers with automatic weapons and a shoot-first-ask-questions-later type policy.

Currently in the midst of their second world tour, this time focusing on eastern Asia, the group has Singapore, Mylasia, Philappeans and Japan all scheduled on their itinerary before their final show in April 2012. They will perform one show only in America, on October 23rd 2011 at the Indian Steele Park in Phoenix, Arizona where they are expected to play for an audience of 25,000 – 30,000 people at the American Arab Festival.

LEL Brothas are promoting their latest album, The Epidemic, which features music from super-producer Wade Martin. Wade Martin is best known for his work with G-Unit and Nas, among others, and as Co-owner of IME Records with DMC of Run DMC.

“Intervention” will be Trakk Sounds’ first project showcasing his production work.

(Houston, Texas) – The very talented twenty-one year old Garrett Brown of Trakksound Productions is currently putting the finishing touches on his first full compilation project, “Intervention.” Completed in similar fashion to previous mainstream producer projects, “Intervention” is largely produced by Trakk Sounds while featuring prestigious emcees over the beats such as Pill, Freddie Gibbs, Slim Thug, Devin the Dude and many more.

In addition to all of those names, Brown made a name for himself as a producer by working with such artists as 2Chainz, Chamillionaire, Killa Kyleon, Paul Wall, Chevy Woods and many more.

An all around talented young prospect, Brown also co-owns DMG studios with his partner, Rapid Ric.

Brown had the following to say about his debut project:

“Intervention is a project that myself and thafixx.com have been working on for months now. It features a lot of the top artists we work with, some you have heard of and some you haven’t YET. I handled around 85% of the production and it’s something that we really look forward letting everyone hear.”
